Vidwan, Flute artist in Hindustani classical music
I
was born in 1987 in a cultured and well educated family. As the
environment influenced my childhood, I naturally developed interest
towards Indian Culture, music and literature. My primary and
secondary educations were done in local schools. Further, my
specialized education on Sanskrit literature and vedic studies were
accomplished in Shreemata
Sanskrit college,
Ummachagi. My bachelor and master degrees were obtained in AlankAra
shAstra at Karnataka Sanskrit university. Currently I am pursuing my
Ph.D in the same field at Karnataka Sanskrit university.
During
my studies at Shreemata
Sanskrit college,
I happened to know about Pandit. Nagaraj
Hegde,
Shirnala, a renowned flute artist who is the disciple of Pandit
Venkatesh
Godkhindi
(The Grate Flutist and Vocalist). I was blessed to learn music under
his guidance in his self-founded “Gokula
Bansuri
Gurukula”.
From past six years, I have been practicing flute with his support
throughout thereby propagating Godkhindi
style of flute legacy.
